Mourinho Urges Vinicius Jr to Stay at Real Madrid, Deal Signed
Former Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has revealed he personally advised Brazilian star Vinicius Jr to remain at the Spanish capital club rather than pursue a move abroad. In a recent appearance on the popular Spanish program El Chiringuito, Mourinho explained that he emphasized the unique stature of Real Madrid and the long‑term benefits of staying at a club where history and ambition intersect. His counsel played a decisive role in the 26‑year‑old winger agreeing to a contract extension that ties him to Los Blancos for several more seasons. The new deal not only rewards Vinicius’s explosive performances on the wing but also reflects the club’s confidence in his development under the current coaching setup. Analysts suggest the extension strengthens Real Madrid’s attacking options ahead of a demanding domestic and European calendar, while also sending a clear message to rivals that the club retains its most prized talents. Mourinho’s intervention underscores the influence of experienced voices in shaping player decisions at the highest level.
